Lake Nakuru National Park is an excellent day-trip destination for game viewing, rhino sightings, bird watching and scenic Rift Valley landscapes.

Itinerary

Early morning departure from your hotel/residence in Nairobi and drive along the Nairobi–Nakuru highway. Stop at a scenic viewpoint overlooking the spectacular Great Rift Valley. Enjoy photography and a short refreshment break then proceed towards the park arriving in time for your first morning game drive. Begin an extensive game drive around the park searching forBlack and white rhinos, Lions, Zebras, Buffaloes, Hippos, Waterbucks, Impalas, Warthogs and the Rothschild giraffes that are noticeable here in their natural habitat and more leopards with luck. The Park also offers excellent birding, with species including flamingos, pelicans, fish eagles, herons, egrets, hamerkops and grebes. 

Enjoy your picnic lunch (own arrangement) at a designated picnic area while taking in the scenery or take a break at lake Nakuru lodge for a buffet lunch at an extra cost. After lunch, continue exploring the park and visit scenic locations in search for more flora and fauna and other scenic sites such as the Makalia Waterfalls a seasonal fall that is dependent on rain water flows and enjoy memorable photographs. Continue with your drive and exit the park and head towards Nairobi with drop off at your hotel or residence in Nairobi, arriving in the late evening marking, the end of your Lake Nakuru National Park Day safari. Enjoy a final wildlife drive while heading toward the park exit.
